The name of the show comes from the nickname for the U.S. Army Special Forces Operational Detachment-A: Better known as the ‘A-Team’. The S.F. use the term ‘ODA’ to describe their 12-man direct operations teams and each serviceman is not only proficient in the different skills required of a qualified member of the Special Forces, but is multi-lingual as well.
